Must Have Conch Jewelry From Etsy

Lately I was bored of my old ear jewely and...frankly it wasn't looking too hot. Most of it was missing and the pieces I had were falling apart. So, I decided to finally invest in a conch hoop piece and some new silver hoops! I stumbled upon FlowerRainbow and fell in love!

I purchased the Opal Conch Piercing 20 gauge 26 mm and the plain Conch Piercing 20 gauge 16 mm both in silver.Must have opal conch piercing jewelry from Etsy store FlowerRainbow

I purchased a Pink Purple Opal captive hoop set 20 gauge and a plain 20 gauge hoop set made of surgical steel at my local Hot Topic. Hot Topic always seems to have a deal going on so take advantage of the mark downs when you buy multiples! Remember to always tell your hairdresser about your piercings before they start brushing your hair! The day after I bought my new hoops I got my hair cut and before I could mention all my new jewelry the hairdresser pulled the ball right out of my highest cartilage piercing!

Trying To Survive The Semester Like

In an attempt to hold on to the last bit of sanity I have after this semester I am trying to see the light at the end of the tunnel. I am less than a year into the start of my student teaching; which is probably when the real pain is going to happen. :P

One thing I have not forgotten is to always get a good night's sleep. I am in LOVE with sleep! It was not always like that. There was a time I could never fall asleep and stay asleep. I would lay in bed as a child fearing for my life. I would stay up until 3AM on a school night wishing I could sleep, but too scared to close my eyes afraid I would die.

As a child I had a hard time in school. I wasn't bullied, I wasn't friend-less. I had a lot of phobias and anxieties. This was in a time when no one talked about generalized anxiety disorder. Now, it seems like everyone has anxiety, and they do. When a person's anxiety affects their daily life for more than six months that is when it may be considered a disorder. I sympathize with the students who have problems like I did in school. Someday I hope I'm a great school counselor for those people.

Color Dyeing My Male Dog Pink and Purple

I am in love with my new doggie's hair do!!! We used semi permanent dog color hair dye on his four feet and his tail. We went for an ombre look in his tail and it went amazingly! We made sure to wash out the two colors separately so they would not bleed into each other.

I had a few spectators ask why in the world I would color my male dog purple and pink! My response...WHY NOT?! I think it's ridiculous that we still consider 'purple' and 'pink' girl colors. No where did the color pink come out and say, "Hey I'm a lady!!!" That was man made. Just like how man decided blue was for baby boys and pink was for baby girls...

Did you know back in the day pink was actually for...boys?! There's an article all about it called, The Surprisingly Recent Time Period When Boys Wore Pink, Girls Wore Blue, and Both Wore Dresses.

Boys wore dresses? And no one cared? Awesome. When can that part of the world exist again?

Most of the people who saw my male dog sporting a pink and purple do were totally okay with the idea. But some said, well he's a dog he probably doesn't even know.... wait know what? That mankind makes up ridiculous social norms that limit genders into only wearing certain colors....?! Oh yeah...that. Let's get rid of that.

Playing With Your Dog in The Water

Just recently...a few months ago :)... I was dog sitting my friend Amy's dog and decided to film him playing in the water. The footage was too pretty not to make a video out of! I also took some stills...

This dog is young and has a lot of energy! Even the biggest of dogs need to be monitored the entire time they are in a large body of water. Ideally dogs will wear life jackets for safety. We had him jump into the pond a few times for the kong toy he loves and even though it was just a few times he was completely exhausted. We had Will in the water just in case the dog needed to be rescued! After all the fun swimming I bathed the dog with dog shampoo to wash off anything that could harm him from the pond water. Have you ever played with your dog in the water? Tell me about it in the comments!

Here are my tips for keep your dog safe
while playing in the water,
1. Take frequent breaks
2. Keep your eyes on your dog at all times
3. Bathe your dog thoroughly after exiting the water
4. If your dog is not a good swimmer, have him wear a life jacket
5. If your dog hates the water, just avoid the water (It's just not his thing) :P

Changes In The Weather: Fall 2015

I'll be the first to tell you that I have been waiting for fall to begin since the start of summer! I love layers, bundling up, and of course Pumpkin Spice Lattes from Starbucks. With the change of the weather comes many changes to continue to happen in my life. I am staying active with my yoga practices regardless that I am no longer attending a hot yoga practice due to lack of time and funds. I have been extremely busy with school, but am keeping my eyes on the end product; a Bachelor's in Elementary Education.

I have been seeing a chiropractor for my hips. During my hot yoga practices in a studio I noticed that my legs would go numb in certain poses. This alarmed my yoga instructor, who ironically is also a chiro, so she highly suggested that I see a chiro. I didn't know one that I liked and I felt good about her so I started seeing her. I have never been comfortable with a chiropractor because the intense snapping of joints intimidates me. However, I like her and I think that I'm seeing results.

I was in a funk with making Youtube videos...and I still am. I dropped everything related to my social media jobs because they were taking up too much time and my schooling comes first now. Not only that but, sometimes it doesn't feel worth it. I put a lot of effort into my videos only to have a small amount of views. I try not to worry about it, but sometimes I can't help but feel angry that Youtube videos such as 'Dear Fat People' become so popular. 90% of Youtube videos are...just junk. Beyond all that though, I don't think I've ever been so happy in my life. Although I'm stressed, I have the best boyfriend I could ever ask for. He is my best friend and I feel so comfortable with him. I never thought I would call my significant 'baby' or 'babe' but I'm doing it constantly. I feel so secure with him and it's the best feeling.

3 Reasons Why Your Puppy Bites

3 Reasons Why Your Puppy Bites

Ever wonder,
Why does my puppy bite so much?
There are many reasons why your dog may be biting on your fingers and various other things that fit in his mouth. Puppies especially are prone to wanting to chew on everything and anything, but why is that? In this article I explain the top three reasons why your puppy is biting and included is this article are two videos that will give you some relief to your puppy biting problems.

1. Teething

Puppies are born toothless and a dog will grow in their baby teeth at 2-3 weeks of age. Depend on their breed puppies will lose their baby teeth from 3 to 8 months of age. Just like a human, baby dogs go through a process of teething. Teething is defined as the process at which an animal is losing their baby teeth to make room for the teeth they will have for the rest of their life. During the teething process your dog's sharp adult teeth are making their way through their gums pushing the baby teeth out. It can be a very painful time for your puppy. The average adult dog has 42 teeth for a total of 12 incisors, 4 canines, and 16 molars.

Incisors grab ahold of food.
Canines tear the food into pieces and, with the help of the tongue, place those pieces of food into the mouth.
Molars grind the food into very small pieces to be moved to the back of the mouth with the aid of the tongue and are swallowed to be digested by the body for energy.

It's important to purchase items your dog can teeth and chew on. These items will relieve the pain your dog is experiencing. It will also bring him entertainment because for a dog chewing is a fun activity to do.

2. Exploration

Puppies are baby animals exploring their new surroundings. Everything is new and exciting to them. Just like a baby human puts things in his mouth to get a better understanding of a texture and how something works, your puppy is doing the same exact behavior. Puppies are trying to figure out their surroundings which means he has no idea when he's biting too hard.

3. Misconception
Your puppy may not know that it's not okay to bite your hand or what he should be chewing on. Your puppy may have a lot of discomfort in his mouth and the best way to get rid of that is to be chewing on something, and you're the most convenient thing to chew on! Give your dog options of what they should be chewing on. Let your dog know that his sharp teeth should not touch human skin and that it's painful. I have a great video on how to train your dog to stop biting fingers.

Never allow your puppy to bite your fingers.
In my latest video I explain my dog training tips on how to teach your puppy not to bite your fingers. It's important to start training your dog not to bite your fingers the moment you get your puppy, so that he understand that it's never okay to do this behavior. I explain in this video 3 simple and easy ways stop your puppy from biting so please watch it below or on my Youtube channel.

In 2012 I made a video about puppy teeth and teething. Please watch the video by clicking the video player below. In this video my dog Bueller is an adorable puppy with a painful loose canine tooth! I give examples of how you can relieve the pain of puppy teething in the video.

3 Simple & Easy Ways To Stop Puppy Biting

3 Simple & Easy Ways To Stop Puppy Biting

Today I'm going to teach you how to stop your puppy from biting your hands! Everyone with a puppy is dying to get out of the biting stage and heavily complain about how their puppy is the worst about biting their hands, feet, and everything else they can get their mouths onto.

Before you perform my training tips on your dog you need to remember...

  • A puppy biting fingers is never cute. Do not ever let your puppy play chew on your hands.
It's extremely important to teach your dog that it hurts when you put your sharp dog teeth on my skin. If you're thinking, "Oh well it doesn't hurt me, I'm strong!"'s going to hurt someone, especially a child. You want to teach your dog from the first day you have him that it's never okay to put your teeth on my skin because it hurts.
  • Give your dog the proper items to chew on. (Antler bones, rawhides, rubber chews, ect).
We cannot always tell our dogs not to do something without showing them what they can do. It's frustrating for a young dog to constantly be told not to chew on something (especially while they're teething) and not be given anything to relieve that natural urge to chew. You want your dog to be a chewer! Chewing helps give your dog a job to do and it keeps him busy. Chewing also helps clean your dog's mouth by pushing tartar off of the surface of the teeth.

The best ways to stop puppy biting

1. Tell your dog biting hurts by saying ouch
2. Stop playing when biting occurs
3. Show your dog what he can chew on

My dog Bueller is not showing much in this episode because he is the king of not touching his teeth to human skin. I did not want to reenact anything with him because it would of been confusing and stressful. I used a puppet because it was much easier to demonstrate rather than using a live wiggly puppy. I do have some gorgeous photos of Bueller chewing on his appropriate chews though!

How To Make Your Pet Famous on Instagram

How To Make Your Pet Famous on Instagram
How hard can it be to create an Instagram for your pet? All you have to do is post cute pictures and instantly you'll get thousands of followers, right? Wrong. Social Media is so competitive and it takes true dedication to have your voice...or your pet's voice heard by many.

How to make your dog famous on Instagram

Post new images often and stay active on the site
It's important that you stay up to date with your fan base and post as much as possible. You should be posting at least once a day. If it's possible post a few times a day to keep active on the site and to be seen as much as possible. Comment and like other account's photos to share the love and potentially be found by more followers.

Upload high quality content only
You need to showcase your best work on your pet's instagram only, so he looks his absolute best. No blurry photos and no photos of something unrelated. The photos need to only be related about your pet and the story around his character. Take pictures of your pet doing various things and experiencing life. Tell us when it's your pet's birthday by showing us a picture of him eating his cake. Share a video of your dog swimming in the pool during summer. Make your posts fun and exciting for his followers.

Create a story and a voice around your pet
To create a following for your pet online you need to create a reason for people to remember your pet and to like their character. Your pet needs to be memorable and unique just like Pudge the Cat and Marnie the Dog. Give your pet and voice and allow them to talk about the photo being posted. Maybe your dog is great at doing tricks and commands. Upload videos of your pet doing those tricks in silly outfits to cute music to attract followers. Then write something silly to go along with the post in the description.

Follow pets you look up to and feel inspired by
There's a thing or two you can learn from current famous pets on Instagram! Look at how they post, which hashtags they use, and how they interact with their audience. Everyone has their unique way of using social media and there isn't an exact science to how to get followers so have fun with it and make it enjoyable for all involved.

I'm not promising I'm some expert queen of Instagram, so I will link a webinar that I really enjoyed that I found online that could be even more helpful for someone creating a pet Instagram account. Sue B. Zimmerman's Free Webinar about Instagram for your business.
I recently remodeled my dog Bueller's Instagram account to see if I could gain him more of a following! Make sure to click the link above to follow Bueller on Instagram to see how we do in the following months.

Pawpack Monthly Subscription Unboxing May 2015

Pawpack Monthly Subscription Unboxing May 2015

Bueller and I just love getting packages in the mail, especially from Pawpack! This month we received a goodie box filled with yummies from all sorts of places. I really enjoy Pawpack's monthly subscription boxes for cats or dogs because they contain organic, natural, and eco-friendly products only.

Unboxing of my May 2015 Pawpack monthly subscription box.

All of our Pawpack unboxing videos are all filmed without having seen any of the products. We are truly reacting to them for the very first time! I liked this video a lot because normally I have the camera extremely zoomed out and it's hard to see everything. In this episode I had Bueller sit on my lap while we looked through our box. I hardly did any editing so the video is a little longer, but seems more genuine.

Dog Toy Lion latex ballon
Charlee Bear dog treats with apple chicken and pumpkin
Grain free wag more bark less soft and chewy dog training treats with beef and spinach
Dog lover bumper sticker from Cloud Star Wag more bark less.
Cloud Star Buddy Splash Rosemary and Mint Spritzer and Conditioner
Rawhide for dogs from the natural dog company

We absolutely love all of these products! The Natural Dog Company's rawhide was put to use right after the filming of our pawpack unboxing video! Since my dog Bueller is so into the idea of chewing he has gotten picky about only chewing on high quality chews. (I'm thinking it's because high quality bully sticks and dog chews have a better taste and do not upset his stomach). So I'm interested in looking into buying more products from The Natural Dog Company!

I am also a huge fan of Cloud Star. They are a really great down to earth company who works with companies big and small!

Take care and please make sure to connect with me on my social media sites.
