Should cats drink cows milk?

The short answer is no. It's a common misconception that cats love dairy milk and it's healthy for them but it is not. Dairy milk can cause stomach upset and diarrhea in your feline friends.

Cats should always have fresh water available.

The only situation where a cat should have milk is when they are in their infancy. Kittens should be given their mother's milk but if that is not available one should go to their veterinarian's office to get a kitten milk substitute designed for kittens.

Department stores and pet stores carry cheaper kitten milk substitutes but your veterinary office will have one of higher nutritional value.
